Miami, FL, Sept 1st, 2023 – NanoSUR, a biotech company that develops and commercializes non-GMO, RNA-based products for agriculture, has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II grant for $645,000 funded by USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). The grant will support NanoSUR’s research and development (R&D) work on RNA-based products to control European Spongy Month, a non-native insect pest that causes billions of dollars in damage to U.S. forests every year.
Miami, FL, Sept 1st, 2021 – Miami-based biotech company NanoSUR has received a $645,000 grant from the USDA to develop a new way to control the Red Imported Fire Ant (RIFA), an aggressive pest that infests over 140 million hectares in 14 states. The grant will help NanoSUR create oil-based baits that use RNA technology to target and kill RIFA without harming beneficial insects or the environment.
